Since we are located in the south part of Cape Breton Island, we offer a huge amount of outdoor opportunities. Guests can rent canoes and kayaks or take one of our tours and experience the feeling of being one with nature. Visit nearby Seal Rock, just a 45 min Kayak trip or go to Bird Island, just in front of VIPI Lodge where you will see cormorant, herons and many other seabirds. If you go further out you often meet dolphins and seals playing around the boat. Many guests even pack up the canoe and head inland to experience total wilderness on our numerous lakes.
For experienced paddles we provide Klipper flatboats to do longer trips. Those boats have been built for more than 70 years and are used in many expeditions around the world. For all water-sport activities we provide D.O.T. approved life jackets and other safety equipment that many be required.
